Her crazy sister, who was a Master in the previous Grail War 8 years ago, sacrificed girls to summon the grail. One of the sacrifices was going to be Ayaka. Her father tried to reason with her sister and got tentacled torn apart in front of her eyes. Arthur, who was her Servant, saved Ayaka's life, by betraying his Master and killing her in front of her eyes.

Is it really surprising she's traumatized and doesn't want anything to do with the Holy Grail War that marked her for death? Yet she's forced into the thing she despises and wants to avoid.

IIRC, over the course of the Grail War in the original idea, Saber was going to be 'blackened' (Alter) and Ayaka will strike a deal with Lancer (because his Master died too) to fight against him as new Master and Servant or allies, idk. I'm assuming Lancer finally gets Gae Bolg back (it's sealed somewhere, he's using lame spears until he gets his hands on this).

....And that all is explained through out the 12 minutes ? Still, I think there's too much 'yada yada' from her to me, but I forgive her now But I wish there was more conversation between Saver and Ayaka, that one scene Saver talks a lot to the other girl....

You know, I distinctly remembers an anime called Tsukihime, especially the opening where there was a princess falling from the castle, but I could be wrong of course...... (at least I learn the Mystic Eyes of Death from there and wasn't surprised when used in Kara no Kyoukai)
