Seriously, how the enemy is characterized is one of the few sore minuses about this show: it would've been more interesting watching had the opposing force were just as colorful (and more than just a bunch of faceless mooks straight out of tokusatsu), along with a very interesting archenemy.

Sometimes we have to be careful about how we pull it off. Look at Mobile Suit Gundam, lot more people like Zeon's cast than the other side.
Best to keep the DES as your typical force of oppression
