Well, from a harsh military perspective, shooting Marie would be the most efficient thing to do. The job is done and he can manipulate the facts as he wants, if he even feels the need to.
Also, LOL, since when has L-elf ever apologized to anyone? Even when he used Haruto as a meat shield he merely started ordering him around after he healed. Even after he brutally
killed Haruto, he never apologized.
