Actually The Seikai space battles, in particular the Space-time bubbles are very well thought out and consistent and are fairly realistic, by comparison with just about any other sci-fi.

Space time bubbles are what allow their ships to even exist in plane-space. What is impressive is how this dictates their engagements. Sords become the strategic objectives of warfare and are dangerous choke points.

Tactical engagement is entirely based on use of space-time bubbles; merging bubbles to reinforce or concentrate fire versus mine-attack and surrounding bubbles to ensure that the target ships can't concentrate their best firepower at the engagers.

As for other space combat. You can't entirely rule out the original (UC) Gundam. I am not sure where Leijiverse titles stand or how LOGH depicts them, but even old stuff like Yamato was pretty interesting in how it depicted space combat (ship/weapon specialisation etc.)
