Before the first season, marianne didn't know C.C.'s true wish. And she violated the contract, meaning, she refused to become immortal (IMO).
But then, Marianne has seen the interactions between C.C. and Lelouch. And in 21 she asked C.C. why she refused to die? But marianne already guessed why, imo.
Then she asked C.C. to face the reality. I think that means "to face lelouch and her feelings towards him".
