I also thoroughly enjoyed Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. I would recommend Gin no Saji if you're looking for a light-hearted meaningful anime. I think there are many overlapping themes.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is also very light-hearted and fun (although not meaningful). Give it a try if you have time.
