Shiion's real reason for wanting to go to the Sunwoo is not to get protection but, perhaps to probably heal himself or something so that he can relearn martial arts and kick wavy hair's ass. Or something like that.

Jinie, who was previously disappointed that Shiion chickened out seems to have an extra positive impression of him, while Elder Asshats seem disoriented at Shiion's decision. They oblige him ( as it also keeps him under their watch ), but Jinie's grandfather was clearly "I am disappoint, Jinie, for you failed to make Shiion into a cowering pussy."

Or something like that. I swear no accuracy.
