Suffice it to say that the trailer for the last three episodes appears to be following the novels exactly although, as I suspected earlier in the novel thread, I am guessing they will resequence the content of the novels a little bit, and that the trailer is actually showing segments in the order they'll be presented:

Episode 14: Kuroneko
Episode 15: Christmas date with Kirino and confession
Episode 16: Confrontation, Wedding, and Akiba Epilogue

(Somewhere in there throw in Kanako, since it looks like her scene may not be excised either.)

This is why it only makes sense to present these three episodes together, because after Episode 14 the denouement will be more obvious. But it's also a bit easier to follow in animated form than the many flashbacks that were in the novel. It also suggests that we'll follow the perspective of the rest of the characters in real-time who are supporting Kyousuke's confession (rather than find out what they did after the fact), and that makes sense given that we'll already know what Kyousuke's trying to do. They'll trade off a bit of suspense to take a broader perspective on what's happening, which will emphasize the way Kyousuke's friends are standing behind him/them. From that point of view I can see why the author would say that he likes the way he presented it in the novel, but that the anime approach also has a lot of merit; it accomplishes a slightly different thing, while presenting the same content.
