I would actually prefer to have some of my ideas be correct, because it means I managed to understand the story and follow some proper logical paths toward something. A complete mystery that perpetually puts the reader in the dark for the vast majority of the tale makes me feel like I'm just tagging along for the ride and waiting for stuff to be handed to me on a silver platter rather than giving me the space to figure stuff out for myself.

And what is rather ironic about the theories is that, even if the statements are right, not a lot of the people who made them understand 100% how they got there in the first place. Another part of the fun is finding out the missing pieces to your theories along the way to make them fit, as opposed to being told outright "Hey your theory is right and this is why blah blah".
