I suspect that Keima knows Ayumi is lying. He deliberately called her out on all her previous jealous behavior and left her no other option than to act happy for Chihiro. My money is on him building everything up to a coming kiss confrontation between all three of them and then taking the high road of "sacrificing" his feelings to preserve their friendship, winning them both over.
