I think someone mentioned up thread, as means of a spoiler, the basic idea, but I can't find it at the moment. Still, the basic thinking, given what we've seen so far, goes like this:
Akito has gone to a lot of trouble to create a situation where he can live with his sister again as a family. (I think the implication is their parents are very dead) However, his sister has a nasty & open Brother Complex. So he's left in a position where he'll never view her "that" way, yet he also doesn't want to injure her severely nor force a bad response from her by dating another girl. (Besides, he really doesn't have the time) So he's just simply shutting down all romantic possibilities out of benefit to his sister, himself and his time. The troika invited themselves to the dorm, in the first place, so he didn't choose to have them there.
