Read chapter 6 of Koimoku. Hinata has a point that you need to sell manga to make money, but in the process she's completely lost focus on other important aspects of making manga. She takes the creativity away from the mangaka in order to mass produce generic stuff that will sell. That's when it stops being an art form and becomes a business. You take away creativity and you're left with a ton of dull, lifeless projects that are all copy cats of one another (same goes for movie, music and video games) and culture itself stagnates. People then eventually get bored with the same old crap.

In her effort to produce mass-selling mangakas, she's apparently ruined a lot more than who've made it by overworking them and basically turning them into drawing machines instead of the artists they should be. The other editor sees that and I think she's a better character for pointing that out.
