by the description of material burst. It converts energy in a matter and turn it into explosive energy. Like a nuclear bomb if you ask me. With nuclear fission and such though I'm not familiar with that one. Plus the advantage of material burst is it can be use ANYWHERE as long as Tatsuya is in safe distance. Tatsuya can be killed by his ability that's why he needs the third eye cad which uses satellite targeting. So he can snipe in safe distance since he can't control the damage it could result in. And his demon left or auto-regeneration won't help because his physically disintegrated.

As for deep abyss by description it creates a slope on the water or like a sink? or the water subsides down with the surrounding getting pulled into it or suck into it then it gets thrown or explode in the surrounding. The easiest comparison I can make it is from one piece Blackbeard's ability Darkness fruit with the endless gravity. It sucks everything in it then gets thrown outside. Pretty destructive if it's use in water because the mobility in water is greatly reduce unlike in land or air. Though the huge disadvantage of it is it can only be use in water unlike Tatsuya's material burst that can be use anywhere.

Both abilities are pretty destructive on its own with it's own weakness and such.

And I'm not sure on what Seitsuki said in the last page but...... the translation in Mahouka was been into halt or rather Seitsuki's name was change into inactive just like Lare. What happen? did he stops translating? I didn't get to read it because it's already deleted when I'm reading right now.

Because we don't find it fun to translate what everyone already knows, details or not. This novel is a little special and it's quite a damper to translate stuff everyone knows. I can't even read speculations for my enjoyment anymore. Translating this novel is time-consuming, especially the technical stuff. Maybe translators will come back when year 2 starts, since it's not written yet

Maybe one of these days, I'll do an overall write-up on the magic mechanics before the anime starts (there definitely will be one), since there are a lot of ground to cover and the stuff is spread over the series. It's also a good compilation for myself since I keep forgetting stuff.
