Nicol on the other hand just got in the way of a huge sword, for all we know he didn't decide to sacrifice his own life under his own free will, just tried to push his friend out of harm's way but happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Ming would be way too heroic if he can pull off some stunts like standing high and mighty to the very last moment and taunting his enemy while he's being slowly tortured and cut in half. However begging for his life under that circumstance just shows he's still very human after all. As he stands now he's not some legendary heroic figure, but a very brave and honorable human IMO died in a much more heroic way than Nicol. Nicol's death is more tragic than heroic and honorable.

Well, seeing as how Nichol only had a dart to fight with, there's no illusion as to the danger he's putting himself into for just one man. The fact that he's willing to try to save his teammate instead of deserting when the odd is against him is a very honorable thing to do in my opinion. And Nichol also showed how human he was when he, in the end, regretted dieing and not getting to see his mom again or playing the piano. But he still managed to tell Athrun to run first, which showed where his priority lies and the level of conviction he had about his action.
Now I'm not saying there's no honor at all in what this guy did in this episode, but by begging for his life, it does take away (at least) some honor because he's willing to sell his life to his enemy. So I can't say he's more honorable than Nichol. Maybe the same, but not more.
