Uh... how about you tell us what's actually wrong instead of just saying "It's not working, MKV sucks!"? It's impossible to help you with that problem description.
BTW, if you want softsubs to show in VLC, you have to turn them on manually. But VLC's softsub rendering sucks, so I don't recommend using that for watching softsubbed MKV's...
