Level5 must really think that kids are stupid or something.
From the Gundampedia blurb at the end of the episode:
"If you're wondering why Captain Ash has a Gundam, you'll find out soon!" or w/e...
Really? I guess they think all kids are just watching it going "yaygiantrobotsnotlistening" -- as they flat out told you multiple times in the episode who Captain Ash is/who was piloting it.
