Spoiler for Monolith Code Finals Conclusion:
"At the place where the student council was viewing the match, Mayumi, whose face had turned pale when she saw Tatsuya get hit by the spells and get injured, was freaking out and asking those around her what just had happened. Katsuto told her that Tatsuya had just amplified the sound wave created by flicking his fingers and broken Masaki’s eardrum, thus knocking him unconscious. Mayumi screamed, “I already know that! It’s obvious from looking at his fingers! What I want to know is how come Tatsuya, who should have been severely injured from taking 2 of Masaki’s illegal over attack spells, just got up and continued fighting!” Katsuto told her, “Calm down! Although it looked like that to me as well, the fact is he got up and moved in a way that no heavily injured person could. Right now the only damage he seems to have is from his own sound wave attack. I heard Shiba is good with old magic and ninjutsu, I believe there are techniques in those styles to transfer the shockwave within the body and avoid the damage; it’s probably something like that”. Mayumi calmed down but wasn’t really convinced by that explanation…
On the field, Cardinal couldn’t believe his eyes. The one thing they never thought possible had just happened. Masaki was on the floor and although Tatsuya was on his knees, he was still conscious. The Crimson Prince had just been defeated. The pressure that held Mikihiko to the ground suddenly lifted and he noticed Masaki on the ground. In his mind, he believed Tatsuya could do it, but wasn’t so sure. He started thinking how it had been Tatsuya that got him the “spotlight”. It was also thanks to his tactics that they advanced to this point, and even now he had just taken down the crimson prince. His pride as a magician would not let it all be “thanks to Tatsuya” so he resolved to at the very least defeat “Cardinal George”. While the cardinal was distracted, Mikihiko activated an illusion magic to disappear from their sight. During that time, he prepared 5 spells with the last one being the lightning attack he had used against the terrorists previously. He had already run out of magic and his camouflage had deactivated, but the cardinal had been defeated. Unfortunately, the other player was still pretty healthy and about to send him an attack he no longer had the energy to dodge. Just then, Leo whacked the other player with his “sword” and officially ended the match. Tatsuya approached them and joked about Leo taking the spotlight by showing up at the last minute, and wondered if he had aimed for it. Leo just denied it and explained the blast from Masaki’s magic felt like when he got hit in an accident a few years back (I think it was a big motorcycle but can’t remember) and he really couldn’t get up before. Mikihiko couldn’t believe Leo and Tatsuya were talking about that kind of damage as if it was nothing and realized that in the end what won the match had not been magic, but physical toughness… which he lacked.
In the regular seats of the stadium, 2 of Tatsuya’s special military squad members had been watching the match. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but a few of them were also staying at the hotel due to the “No Head Dragon” incident. The reason for them being there was to make sure Tatsuya didn’t reveal any of his secret magic during the match. The 2 members, a woman about the same age as Haruka (the counselor) and a doctor (he’s an officer) were discussing how he only used his “self-healing” magic when the speed was faster than human consciousness (as I said before the more damage, the faster it works) and only used “Flash Casting” once. To top it off, he had changed the magic on one of the CAD’s to a vibration magic so he could camouflage this spell when he used it. The doctor tried to make a point out of him using his healing magic but the woman (sorry, forgot her name) glared at him hard enough for him to give up. At that point they also talked about what would happen if he had used restricted magic. If he had, in order to prevent access to him from other countries, they would have had to “protect” him. Obviously this would restrict his freedom and lead to a conflict with him. Considering that they could only think of 1 other member that could possibly match his casting speed (that member seems to have a similar technique), that was something they were really glad didn’t happen.
After the match, Tatsuya received medical help for his eardrum but it would take some time for it to heal. Back in his room, he activated his self-healing to heal it but decided to leave the bandages and pretend he was still injured to finally get a break from the whole thing..."
