I think even though they call him Karl which is what the DLC character Johann was called in the Japanese version, the last name is a bit different?

Spoiler for plot: It's one of the Emperor's Son's underling that planned the attack, but he was told about it. Spoiler for plot2: The giant tank battle is gone, the next episode is probably where Alicia/Welkin got seperate from the squad in the game
