I'm pretty sure at the end of chapter 6 they said the manga was taking a break until November, so the next chapter will probably show up in the next couple of weeks.
Just to clarify a couple of things that happened in chapter 6...
Spoiler for ch. 6:
...the new guy is a teacher. Chika later reveals the reason she wanted to talk to him privately - it seems her older sister had a relationship with said teacher and ended up pregnant, which Chika is distinctly unhappy about. A relieved Yamada tells Chika he thought the teacher was her boyfriend, after which Chika admits that she was lying about having one.
Yamada decides to catch some fish for dinner, and walks out on some stones in the shallow water - then, just as he looks back at Chika, the strange mist envelops him and he's suddenly plunged into deep ocean waters. A rescue boat immediately pulls him out, having already picked up a girl student - it looks like he's somehow back at the ship, just a few minutes after the mist swept over it, and they're still searching for the missing people (who they, naturally, assume to have simply fallen overboard).
When Yamada tries to tell the ship's crewmember on the rescue boat about the island, Chika, and the teacher, though, the man reacts with incredulity, asking if he's hit his head. There's no island within a hundred kilometres!
(It'll be interesting to see what happens from here, and how long Yamada will take to get back to the island. When he was waking up after falling down the slope, Chika was pleading with him not to leave her alone - and now, inadvertently, he has, leaving her stuck on the island with a teacher she hates. Wonder if the next chapter will be on the ship with Yamada, or on the island with Chika? The former would probably move the plot along more, but the latter would be interesting to see how Chika deals with the psychological blow...)
