Well there's a lot of emphasis on Ringo becoming Momoka. Perhaps the flames signify the destruction and rebirth of Ringo, sort of like a phoenix.

This also brings up an interesting question regarding the plot. If the hat is implied to be Momoka, and Himari is using it, and the Diary has now been used twice as reference of Ringo becoming Momoka, are we looking at some kind of Harry Potter horcrux scenario?
