Important question - What level are you? Because buying lower tier runes is a waste. Don't get any runes before 20. Get a decent spread of champs.

If you want the basic rundown of a champ, type in 'League of Legends Champion Spotlight (name of champ)' in Youtube. Phreak, one of the NA casters, does the spotlight vids, giving a basic rundown of moves, potential of champs in lane & teamfights and some item suggestions.

Once you feel you know enough about the game, watch the pros play. You learn a lot from seeing what they do and why. It helps drills in things like prioritising objectives over kills, positioning in lane and teamfights, warding patterns, etc. The Korean League OGN and European LCS are probably the most useful. They get streamed on Twitch, as do pros that stream.



So...did anyone see the cataclysmic upset in OGN tonight?

SK Telecom T1 K are effectively out of the Spring split of OGN. KT Arrows just took them apart so well. SK Telecom were doing bizarre picks all night, Bengi was effectively useless on Evelynn and Faker...Faker was terrified.

This might be a one-off split disaster for SKT but....there's some teams on the rise. Najin White Shield are becoming very solid but need to refine closing out games, the KT Arrows can beat anyone but need to get consistent. KT Bullets need to stop screwing up fights and major objectives. Someone is going to get a big haul of circuit points that people would have thought would go to SK Telecom.

Kakao certainly delivered his first installment of his promise to bring down SK Telecom. And if one guy can end their dynasty, he can. There isn't a better jungler around than Kakao at present, IMO.
