Individual tournament happen in manga. While it showed only in anime, the content was supervise by Ritz herself. Ritz also mention about it in manga. Moreover, Achiga manga mentioned that Mihoko is the winner from Nagano just like in Saki anime. So Individual tournament in anime is canon.

Ahhhhhh......while I understand they want to end the ep. as hopeless as possible. I hate that anime left out the scence where Toki foresees Kuro doing "something" for next ep. I can't discuss openly in anime topic just because of this. And kuro hater gets one more week to complain her about how useless she is insted of "Oh, she will do something next ep."
Anyway, with Nodoka comes to watch the match, if the moment she sees Kuro on scence is when Kuro do "something", it will be perfect timing.
