My point is that if the author goes to the extremes with these storytelling devices, he risks overwhelming the audience even if they understand the symbolism.
I'm not saying Ikuhara shouldn't do things this way. I'm just saying he should learn to dial down on this a bit sometimes. It's ok to use symbolism to make a point about Shouma's fate; it's not ok to go to the point he comes across as a
looney tunes reject.
