In fact, I think it's a jolly good idea - it's very genuinely creepy. I like how, to me, it tries to look so child-friendly, but there was something about that silly appearance that felt unsettling (aside from the fact that it was zapping Fumie). And "illegal devices"? I almost thought about DMCA
I love stories where the children get repressed by laws like this and they outwit and pwn the people trying to "correct" them.
And I won't be surprised if it was the key to a bigger conspiracy that the kids are on the tail of in their own earnest way (one wonders why Isako transferred specially to Daikoku - she's definitely taking a lone wolf stance, but I guess she'll join forces with the rest later).
Another thing I was wondering about. You know, I honestly think the title logo for the show was very disappointing. It looks really clumsy and n00b because of the font and those
colours. But when you think about it, perhaps it's supposed to be like that in ironic contrast to the duller tones of the show itself. Perhaps it's symbolic in how Saachi tries to be so kid-friendly but ends up being an anomaly in Daikoku because of its appearance and the fear it instils in kids.
On another hand, I could say that it's retro in its own way (am thinking back to amateur logos from the mid 1990s). But that might be stretching it.
I think too much about little things
