The line is more likely a form of denial imo, and at this point I don't see the power of frienship be sufficient to calm her, especially when she is deeply in love with him. I guess she could interrupt him, or conclude something or...well as I said, everything is possible, but this is her most important line, and the last gum line unsaid, so it should have some importance.
