Well.. I started with lynda.com's essentials tutorial
which you can get the same you way you can get after effects. I didn't understand a thing about how selectors and stuff work when i started, and it took me a while to do so :P
I'd just give it a try, and if you need a couple of examples (.aep wise) or help with an effect or whatever.. just ask
