Minagoroshi Joushi has pretty much confirmed that it was Sanmoto Gorozaemon's faction that assisted ( or manipulated, since Kitsune clearly went through some bouts of memory alteration/hypnosis ) in the murder of Rihan, since the Maoh's Hammer now have 3 generations of Nurarihyon's blood in it.

There'd probably be a last minute betrayal, but Nue's being built-up too much for him to not be born, since his existence alone could spur a whole new group of villains made up of humans with special powers, being formerly Seimei.

I'm hoping there's some way for the series to take it easy for a while after this arc. Take the latest omake for instant,

And I highly doubt it, as far as just this season goes. Nevermind that at the pace they're going, they'll comfortably end at around the finale of Tamazuki's arc, I believe the director also stated intentions to add extra content to the series.
