You can't beat someone who doesn't lose life. They won't lose due to time-out [Infinite combo trick anyone?] and they won't die.
I was talking about if the players were evenly matched. It doesn't matter if a pro Shirou will win against a newbie Gilgamesh, pro Shirou will still lose to pro Gilgamesh if Shirou sucks. It's ridiculous to compare characters when one is a pro and one is a newbie, since then you can make the claim that the character the newbie played is underpowered even if the character was the strongest and claim that the character the pro played was broken even if the character was one of the worst characters.
