Although I have not seen the anime I also love the scene in the
Maison Ikoku manga when Godai says
This scene really showed the growth and maturity of Godai and how his crush on Kyouko had really blossomed into real genuine love.
Interestingly they tried to do something similar in the recent
Natsuyuki Rendezvous, although the scene did not work as well for me personally.
