I agree to some extent. I anticipate to see Luke using Radiant Howl or Guardian Field, or Guy with his awesome Brilliant Overlord, but they might just save this for later. But can't help it though, Abyss have much better story plot than other Tales imo (say, Vesperia), although the battle system still rocks.
Still, we've seen Jade using his almighty Indignition, Guy's Void Tempest (albeit barely mimic the game's), and in recent episode, there's Anise's Mystic Arte, Final Fury

Speaking of which

Jade just used his Mystic Cage and the preview for the next episode has Anise using her Final Fury attack, though the background looks like the part for her Dying Moon.
