A question has recently vexed me. It goes thus: In the pre-internet world it was not uncommon for certain games (chess and Contract Bridge being the commonest) to be played by correspondence, with players separated by (in some cases) whole continents; the only link being a letter, I was wondering if there were any cases of this being extended to Mahjong, and what were the mechanics of doing so?
