Like it or not, this is Horie Yui all the way. Although I find her to be one dimensional, she does fit the spunky, yet innocent character of Suzu, and I believe the producers wanted Hocchan to sound like her trademark voice (of course, Airantou being a Starchild property makes her a cast by default). She sings both the OP and ED, a plus for Hocchan fans.
The supporting cast is great, especially Chiba Saeko, whose voicing of Ayane reminds me of her Dokuro-chan role.
Episode 1 being the introductory story, basically follows the manga, which I think the anime will stay close with. However, being 26 eps, there should be ample leeway to focus on each character as well.
Airantou is going one step further in testing TV Tokyo's broadcasting codes, which I think they took a hint from History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi.
Artwork by feel. is superb, just like in their previous works, such as D.C.S.S. and Otoboku.
For this season we already have a marine based title (Seto no Hanayome), and a harlem title (Konnyaku), but in my opinion, Airantou is one notch above the others.
I reprimand myself for reacting too much to the CLANNAD movie commercial the was shown.

Thanks for the quick report. So how was Ikuto? Who's playing him, anyway?
