Perhaps I'll just ditch the anime all together no matter how good the reviews are.. yet still buying some of the character figures. I love Mecha Musume..

Not to be rude, but if you hate the fanservice in the anime series so much, why bother to watch it, let alone repeat what's already been said? We get it. You hate the fanservice in this series. It's understandable as to why you like the certain aspects of the show, but at the very least you know what you're getting yourself into prior to watching it. If that's not the case, then don't watch it.

I also stand for the pantlessness not counting as actually fanservice (unless noted otherwise) given what's already been said by einhorn earlier in this thread.

I know. But it's just that I hate seeing the series that I've waited for so long being turned into something it shouldn't be. It'd be like turning Gurren Lagan into a purely RomCom series.

Given that I'm late for this conversation, I'd thought I'd give my own in depth thoughts on the episodes of Strike Witches 2 (Or as I like to call it "Strike Witches: The Slice of Life Version)

Spoiler for Thoughts on Episodes 1-12:

Episode 1: A good start to the series, I liked how the beginning left a somewhat dark impression with the destruction of the Neuroi Witch (which we never see afterward.) The only complaint I have is that Sakamoto seemed like a bitch (not only in this episode but throughout the majority of the series) in comparision to season 1 where while being commanding was also very encouraging. That trademark laugh was only heard one time in S2.

Episode 2: Sort of instates the show's semi-epicness. Not my favorite episode, but action-packed and enjoyable. The only problem I had was the repeated shot from the previous episode.

Episode 3: While I like this episode as a guilty pleasure, it's still stupid. I mean what's the point of all that broom training? Though I consider it overall harmless. The ending fight scene made up for the episode's flaws.

Episode 4: One of the better episodes of the series. Mostly action dealing with the Jet Striker and Barkhorn being somewhat badass with it. I still prefer Shirley though.

Episode 5: A perfect example of what Strike Witches is not supposed to be. Being that this was Francesca Lucchini's episode, I was disappointed how this was just pointless screen time instead of giving Francesca any backstory.

Episode 6: Overall best episode. Giving Sanya and Eila fans what they expect and executing it perfectly. It focused more on their relationship, giving them great character development. And the final battle scene with "Sweet Duet" playing was very touching.

Episode 7: As a fanservice episode, it disappointed me. While I did enjoy the crazy antics of the Neuroi Bug, the episode overall seriously lacked in fanservice. Minna's @#$ was the final nail in the coffin.

Episode 8: Favorite episode next to episode 6. Miyafuji being badass with her Shinden Unit was far more epic than that silly Reppuzan move.

Episode 9: Same problems with episode 5. Episode 5 of Season 1 was epic (and hot) compared to this lame excuse for a beach episode better suited for something like K-On!! or Ika-Musume, which is what this series is not.

Episode 10: the only time a new character is spotlighted. Nonetheless satisfying to see Hanna-chan getting a fair amount of screentime.

Episode 11: Where the show finally jumps the shark. Mio losing the ability to fight and acting emo when she can no longer perform that silly move is completely cringe-worthy. The fight scenes and bath scene were the only redeemable factors in this episode.

Episode 12: WORST ENDING EVER. Miyafuji's Reppuzan would've been epic had AIC not intend to ruin it for the sake of money.
