You know, I try SO HARD to not be this guy but the people around me with less tact are constantly making it difficult. Most recent example: went out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant with some of my family, and out of nowhere my aunt decided to randomly start talking to the bartender about how "into Japanese culture" I am, as if him being an Asian guy working at a Japanese restaurant meant he would care. Made even more embarrassing by the fact that he then awkwardly asked me if I spoke the language to which I was forced to reply no. Maybe this story is worth a laugh in itself. Sigh.
