This is more local to NYC (and surrounding areas) news than global, but... Wasn't the MTA in financial trouble not too long ago? Also, New York City, given the recent and on-going economic problems, was having problems as well, so is giving this pay package worth it? I guess the residents served by the MTA will have to find out themselves if Jay Walder is really a top-notch transportation expert.
