I'm not surprised that this is being animated, but I am surprised that they're animating it separately from the other Bakemonogatari books that have yet to be animated.
My only major concern with this project is whether the book can provide enough material for twelve episodes. The adaptations for both Bakemonogatari and Katanagatari have only devoted a few episodes to each book. Other than that... I've really liked everything this guy has written so far, so I'll probably enjoy it.
