Well, it is true, that as Kyon ask her, what kind of man Haruhi would take as boyfriend, she answered:

And yeah, there is a reason for her molesting of Mikuru: As Wrong Genre Savy Haruhi wants to rise Mikuru´s moe-level at this way and so make her even more popular... and it works...
Poor Mikuru...
(But then there was this night in the last chapter of the fifth novel, that makes me wondering, what Mikuru really thinks about Haruhi... )
