Honesly, it feels like Oda is one of the better Shounen Mangaka's for romance if for no other reason than the fact that he keeps it OUT of his manga. If you're gonna do something do it well or not at all... otherwise it just drags down the writing

The eye techniques... considering how their is a connection between the sharigan and the Rinnengan, and the very old though now seemingly debunk status of the Byakugan being somehow related to the sharigan(it was mentioned early on, but then seemingly forgotten about), this would have been the PERFECT way to make Hinata relevant enough to the story to give her more panel time and development with Naruto... Heck, Tobi's last mask had three holes in it; he could have pulled a three-eye thing with a byakugan in his left eye, Sharigan for the right, and the rinnigan in the forehead... The more I think about it, the more I feel like Kishi had EVERYTHING he needed to write a decent romance subplot, but just missed it on every level

Out of everything Kishi has written, that probably IS the closest thing he has to a decent romance.

Though that does remind me that we still have Naruto vs Sasuke coming up... man I really do wonder how much Kishi has this planned. Seriously, with everything going on with Obito and madara and this seemingly final battle; I can't really think of a decent way that Kishi could segway to Naruto vs Sasuke without it feeling just incredibly hamfisted

Unless i'm forgetting something, last we saw she was captued and planning her escape... She earned props for doing what Sakura should have done ages ago; realizing that Sasuke was in fact a bastard when he tried to kill her. But then again, Sakura isn't the only character that Kishi can assassinate... afterall part of karin's ruse for escaping was fawning and cursing at a picture of Sasuke
