That's certainly a possibility, but since it looks like the bullet ricochets in the same way the ones on the floors, walls and Eve's big iron arm do, it feels more like a shield(Aegis) is at work to me. Well provided it's really hitting Yamada's foot and it's not just the wall behind him like Xiammes mentioned.
