I can't give this episode a 10, but I'm tempted to. I really, really liked it.

Maybe that's because I'm more of a pacifist, too, and like to see peace coming about of its own accord. The way Aono relented was great: in the face of her memories and her earlier self. The way Mayuko stopped Takeshi, with love and an embrace, was great. And so was their story. I liked seeing Yorito looking out the window at the end. We still don't know how Mayuko's family died, and whether Matsuri was somehow involved or just came by and saved Mayuko.

And I loved the insert song by Ceui.

Perhaps you could say this show just runs variations on standard fantasy anime memes. But that's enough for me, if it's the right memes varied in the right ways.
