There's something interesting about the last frames of the OP, and that is the Black King of chess has fallen on the checkerboard. In Code Geass, the Black King represents Lelouch, so is this hinting at his possible downfall by the end of the series?

On a related note, Suzaku is represented by the White Knight.

Yes that makes sense. Indeed the attitude of Lulu (lol) seems to indicate something like the main guy in Deathnote. Though his purposes and aims maybe pure/for the good.... They carry the weight of consequences that Lulu doesn't realize yet.

The reality check is that even with Geass power that isn't enough to change people and control them. In the end any great effect is like the episode's last scene, gruesome.
