The thing is that every character believed they knew what was best for ange: maybe you can view this as negative thing, deciding for others and all that, but it was their attempt at doing something right. That's not the point. The point is they have no way of seeing, evaluating, judging, or assessing Ange's life
beyond 1986. They are missing 12 years of information and judging her entirely on one event. The Rokkenjima Incident was just the START, and they don't know SHIT about everything that came out because of that, like the Witch Hunter fandom.
