Actually it looks like the fangirls were behind the guy that came in third. Both Lucky Star characters were the main fanboy split.
Also Kagami lost by about 60 votes. That could be the Chinese voters, or those that didn't want to see a chance for Kagami to get a second Saimoe win this year.
