Some information on the movie courtesy of someone on 2ch who read the latest issue of Newtype:
All of the space elevator ideas Kamachi had been thinking of using were put into the movie.
Kamachi wrote up 5 different plots for the movie. The movie's current story is a mixture of all of them.
The bonus novel tells the story of what happened just before the space elevator was completed. (And it is a different story from Ensemble)
Yoshino (the screenwriter) is an Index fan. "I-it isn't like we called in Yoshino just because the story involved singing." -Nishikiori (the director)
Nishikiori is a Stiyl fan and he says Stiyl being pushed around by his subordinate witches is a highlight of the movie.
According to the director, Kamachi provided enough sample stories for the movie to create an entire TV series.
Abeshi (aka Abe Atsushi aka Touma's VA) thought "Oh, so it really is that way, is it, Stiyl-san?" when he saw Stiyl getting dragged around by the 3 witches.
The dubbing began one morning and ended at 1 AM the next morning. Abeshi alone was still full of energy by the end.
During the lead in to the main incident, Saten appears, Accel has a fight scene, Laura appears, and Himegami appears.
