While Minmay and Hikaru aren't a real couple for most of the series, the song mirrors their relationship, except reversed! Hikaru is the "singer", greatly in love with Minmay to the point of it affecting his job as a pilot; Minmay is the "pilot", too absorbed in her singing role to even notice Hikaru's feelings. The elusive "boyfriend" Minmay is singing about is actually herself!
