Then later Omega Division starts taking interest in Edward as well because he can pilot an IS and an unusual one on top of that.
Alex gets the orders to "seed" the Night Fury to get more combat data, and eventually is asked to have a field test against it with the Belial to see what those two unorthodox units are able to do. At the same time, he gets permission to use the machine more (due to the interesting live battle dynamics is showed off during Alex's rescue of Houki and Ichika)
Alex, having struck some sort of friendship with Ed, takes it a bit awkwardly (he's still the stoic and silent bishie, but he does care for Edward a bit, seeing that he is his bunkmate). But as he'll say "A mission is a mission".
They go fight in the arena. Everyone is watching. They think Alex is going to get a trainer IS.
"There's no need for that."
Cue. Epic music Bloody Rabbit cuts in again as everyone goes wtf at seeing Belial. Ichika is HAYZ, THAT'S THE GUY THAT SAVED ME! Of course, Alex tones down his power so that he doesn't outright KILL if he scores a hit, fixing it so that his attacks simply de-shield his opponent and force him to go quits.
Possible plot developments for the interactions between the two look good.
Who wins? MeisterBabylon decides. (Or we could get outside interruption... Phantom Task? Perhaps we could go with a tie, with both of them striking a melee hit at the same time)
Of course, this is just a suggestion of mine, how I feel it could go.

Sounds like a plan.
But frankly I still think it would be better if you two first appear around end episode 5 start episode 6, then run from there? We have Charles to break the rule of NO MEN at that point so Ed and Al (...wait Edward and Alphonse-- *shot*) won't cause too much a disruption.
But that's just my suggestion, no need to rely on me for everything!

"Well, technically it is an IS, but the tech is somewhat more "archaic", can't have one-off abilities but this is the best thing the defense budgetcan buy in terms of overpowered powered armor against women wearing only a bathing suit for protection. We are paying top dollar for this."
The CR-IS1: Weyand series is a mass produced battlesuit for combat by US soldiers named after. Designed to be used by the average soldier, this suit is deemed a "Anti-Land Attack Unit" The suit was developed as an attempt to use anything that could be of value from IS data and streamline it to serve it's own niche. The result is a unit that is absolutely terrifying in land skirmishes but terrible against airborne units. Including the Infinite Stratos series. A skilled pilot may be able to fend off against a 2nd Gen IS with a bit of luck and support from other suits, the standard procedure against 3rd gens is "GTHO"
The CR-IS1 Weyand comes with a Grenade Cannon (read a modified Paladin Cannon with special designed shells for penetrating IS shields.), a 10 round magazine Autocannon and a power claw. The unit is no slouch in movement, reaching a terrifying 300 mph when in full throttle. If an IS is caught on land against this unit, there can be trouble. The source of such tech is classified as it wasn't covered the Alaska treaty.
Because it isn't under the Alaska treaty, the US tries to mass produce this unit but so far only produced about 50 for combat operations and are reserved for emergency ops. Despite this, Magi uses this suit well enough to prove his worth to the world. Given the fact Crest is doing a bit of work on IS potential, it isn't far off one day in another lifetime an AC can be minaturized as well.

It is only fair that the US develops a counterpart to the ' Pangawan' battle armor used by the 1st Commandos.
Though it is a lot more better geared than the Pangawan.
(Saintess is that how Pangawan is spelt btw? They are appearing in my next short escorting the air-flown IS units)

Weapons : MEISTER-S (Sniper version) /w 15x50mm CRAM (Critical Range Anti-Materiel) rounds or regular sinclair-thread beams, Advanced All-Round IFF-Multipulse Radar, HELIX NLOSRG one-shot Launchers x5, 2x shoulder-mounted CIWS (can also be used to shoot melee IS-es), beam shortblade.
Description : Named after the goddess of hunt, this pack is used for interdiction and destroying enemies from afar, particularly with the destructive CRAM rounds which fly over 8500m and destroying whatever it hits, or the sinclair-thread beams that expand rapidly once it discharges from the gun's capacitors, creating large holes in the path of where the beam passed.
For immediate threats, it has the shoulder mounted CIWS to take down projectiles and a beam shortblade should the time come to lock swords. If the enemy tries to run or hide, the Advanced radar is able to track their positions with help from satellite positioning and fire the Non-Line of Sight Rocket Grenades, loaded with deadly HELIX warheads to ensure the target gets knocked off the sky or off the ground.
However, it is advised for pilots not to engage in melee combat with this add-on, as the single beam shortblade may not be enough against seasoned melee combatants.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Antelope Recon Pack
Weapons : VDash Thrust Accelerator x 6 (4 on wings, 2 on feet), Propofol painkiller autoinjectors, MEISTER, Beam pistol, EMP discharger, beam shortblade, stealth generator.
Description : Initially the recon version of the exoskeleton used by the males in the MDF, it was modified for the IS girls when there was a need for aerial recon. The thrust accelerators provide a sudden boost of speed for 2 minutes before wearing out, and the light loadout allows for higher speeds to be achieved. When surrounded, the EMP discharger can be activated to temporarily stun opponents in a 50m radius to allow for a quick escape, at the cost of what little shields the IS equipped with this pack already has.
Also taken over from the original exoskeleton design were the stealth generator and the painkiller autoinjectors, the latter which is used by the ground recon teams after running long distances at high speeds with help from the exoskeletons, but straining the muscles and causing intense pain. For some reason, the autoinjectors are not removed, so once the AI diagnoses high agony levels in the IS pilot body, the autoinjector is triggered, sometimes at a price of knockout or severe disorientation for several minutes as IS-pilots have little or no need for painkillers at all.
Rachel's handler wears a sized-down compacted version of the exoskeleton under his suit at all times, removed the auto-injector to be applied manually and replaced the beam shortblade with a hiltless nanosword, which is somewhat similar to Blind Horizon in terms of design but puts out a visible, self-sharpening blade.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Dominion
Weapons : Adnan Phased Laser Cannon x6, Mjolnir Buster Howitzers x2 on arms (can be holstered to use hands), Kyuubi 4x3x3 Rocket Pods on back (Airburst HELIX, Sledgehammer), handheld Hailstorm Chaingun (firing AIS, Flak or Ball rounds), Cleave Beam halberd, Magnetically Hardened Shields
Description : Initially developed to optimise what limited highly-skilled ground troopers and IS-pilots the MDF had within their ranks, the Dominion pack is built to be compatible with both the ground exoskeletons and IS-es. Using the powerplant technology from the Magaru and 4th-gen IS, as well as incorporating various weapons from ISes such as Helena's Devastator and Rinin's Koryu, this highly destructive and modular addon was destructive beyond words. Unfortunately, the original unit and blueprints were stolen by a terrorist attack on a super-secret proving ground leaving all of the command staff dead, and multiple copies were made by the rogue IS organisation and sent across the world to terrorist group commanders.
The copies are not as well built as the original, thus there are a number of flaws such as exposed wires, front-only hardened shields, or completely lacking in the Hailstorm and Cleave. Nevertheless, even without these weapons, battlefield statistics still showed that these machines of war is still a force to be reckoned with.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Cosmic Shroud Kai
Weapons : Moonfang Mod MKII Laser Boomerangs , MEISTER-A (Advanced), SP-T3 burst plasma pistol, Ultima-H Dual-Barreled Repeating Gun (DBRG 8x42mm), Halt wing binders, doubling as instantaneous airbrakes, nano-reloaders for MEISTER-A.
Description : The original Cosmic Shroud pack used by Rachel was so severely damaged that her handler had to take it back for proper disposal. Unbeknown to her, the Metro government and anyone else, it was secretly rebuilt.
The greatest flaw of the original Cosmic Shroud pack is its lack of weapons, limiting Rachel to using only Blind Horizon, the laser boomerangs and the problematic MEISTER. To address that issue, the upgraded MEISTER was requisitioned, as well as adding on the Ultima-H DBRG, the standard issue gauss GPMG used by the MDF, and both of which are programmed to the IS's systems to be entirely summonable. A 4-round-burst plasma pistol has also been added for intermediate ranged combat, and the Halt wing binders added onto the unit gives Rachel the ability to stop immediately in midair, at no matter what velocity she travels in, and allow for more unconventional maneuvers.
Moonfangs have also been repaired, and their design has been modified such that the boomerang fins are able to close together in midair and turn into direct trajectory slashing weapons, giving the pilot a more unpredictable edge during combat. However, Rachel can only use the Moonfangs when she is using the MEISTER as offensive, or with the Blind Horizon as melee defensive as she is not used to using them with other weapons, limiting many other tactical edges the entire system has to offer.

The medical degree in my hand (and my future dream of becoming an anaethestist) dictates that you rename Propofol to something else!! It's a hypnotic; You'd put Rachel to SLEEP not kill pain. I'd suggest low dose Special K for that.
(Michael Jackson Juice is overrated. Really. )
Strike Gundam tan vibes growing...
Does that mean Cosmic Shroud Kai returns to the tune of VESTEGE?!

True. For me, I'm fielding the Pangawan BA as a security measure, to keep the expensive mass-production units from the Foundation under armed guard. Those guys can at least stop anything short of a full army or another IS from stealing them.
Rachel Browning may protest their presence, or agree I'm not sure, but as these are state assets there's no such thing as being too cautious.

True that. Imouto is big for standing at 5-6m, but unless Karon is given the Presidential Authorization it would look pretty much like a pretty IS.

Spoiler for The 214-2/3/4-A - I1 Adarna Equalizers:
As new standards for Tech Demonstrators began to pile up, the Adarna, being the last of the First Generation Demonstrators to shift, had a huge order to fill. After exhaustive planning and proposal reviews, it was decided to give the IS what would be the most extensive and currently largest collection of Equalizer Sets ever created. A total of 9 sets were created, 8 for dealing with with a specific types of equalizers and modules being tested and one “universal mount” as it’s muti-tech demonstrator/representation.
Spoiler for E1: Green:
One of the more novel Equalizers in use, as it deals more with support than actual combat. It is by default equipped with 2x hand-wield-able lower arm + 2x shoulder mounted “Nightingale” Repair Beam Guns, an experimental support module that enables the user to do one of three things; the remote repair/recharging/restoration of a targeted IS’ shields, or to repair any damage to the actual armor by remotely activating the repair mechanism of the armor, or merely sending the energy to remotely recharge any energy reservoir the IS may have. But due to the nature of the beam and the problems to sending energy by air, the range of the beams is quite limited. Asides from the Repair Beams, it can also mount various experimental equipment that are labelled “Utility Support”, such as Remote Hyper-Sensor Links, ECCM Casters and Secondary Targeting Annexes. However, the very nature of this set is the reason why it is banned from Matches- in addition to being useless- or rather helpful to the enemy, it almost goes against the very goal of the match- the elimination of the opponent’s shielding.
Bus Slots:
High: 0 - as the slots are pre-fitted.
Middle: 6 - the first 2/8 are pre-fitted
Low: 2
Rig: 3
And as with Rumor Reports, these are not official until actual evidence is shown.

...so much EVE. XD

Now that saves me a ton of effort! I was needing someone with a training IS with that kind of personality for the post after this coming one, and Erika is perfect!!
Now if her voice actor was Toyosaki Aki...

...mind if I spoil:
Saji x The Real Karon is official. In fact, the whole plan to get Saji a harem is so that if he does fall for it, it gives the sadistic girl reason to beat him up... and then personally nurse him back to health.
*ruuuuuuunz from a flaming Merlion!!*
