I love these books, and the anime is looking okay so far, but for a few things....

Spoiler:

Lief is supposed to be, in the book, alot more like an ordinary 16 year old (in that time and situation) than a young hero. In the book he doesn't want to set out on the quest at first, he didn't really do anything to save anyone or fight the law to be chased in the book, he just was out slightly after curfew and gets found out. I mean, the looks of Lief in this anime are ridiculous aswell. But what can you do?

Jasmine almost seems on par (given the amount of knowledge so far).

Barda is awesome looking.

Also, about the lord of the rings thing, all similarities end there. You'll see it aslong as they don't change the story in the anime, but really I never even thought to compare it to Lord of the Rings.

Also, I hope they ignore the original target audience for the books. That's the only thing that set me off about them.
