Am I the only one who got death flags shooting up for Mavis during that Mavis and Zeref exchange? In scenarios of master/teacher vs. Arch-villain, where the master/teacher isn't the focus of the story, he/she rarely lives to the end. Death is rare in Fairy Tail, so perhaps not.

Its too bad that the show couldn't have kept going a little longer, the celebration would have been a much better point to stop at.
