If you can wait until late March, you might want to wait a bit for the AMD Richland APUs. They are a minor upgrade (Kaveri later this year is the real upgrade), but the release should coincide with some promotions from manufacturers and/or at least some downward price pressure on older AMD Trinity stock.

That is, if you want to go AMD. IMO, the APU is a better model for cheaper laptops than Intel CPUs (acceptable performance all across, including for games like DotA 2, while Intel cripples its own lower end CPU's integrated graphics), but it depends on what laptop manufacturers do with the chip.
