the main character is actually quite badass and only becomes more so as the story progress. However he hides that side of himself behind his goofy/lazy personality as he tend to lose control when he gives in to his anger and hate. the dude also has one of the worst childhood in anime i know of. to have grown up,survived and kept his sanity after what he gone through is badass worthy already.

This dude is a destined- tragic hero both in his current reincarnation as well as his previous life as a demon god.
